About us

Neopec Pty Ltd (Melbourne), a new spin-out company of the O'Brien Institute, is using a combination of a device and surgical procedure to entice the woman’s own regenerative capacity to grow a living adipose (fat) tissue substitute for breast reconstruction.

Using a customised biodegradable chamber shaped specifically for the patient’s needs, Neopec will deliver a more naturally aesthetic result without an accompanying donor site injury or the need for a silicone implant.

Neopec is supported by a cooperative of six other members including the O’Brien Institute, St Vincent’s Hospital (Melbourne), Anatomics Pty Ltd, Cogentum Pty Ltd and Melbourne University’s Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. The company is the proud recipient of funding from the Victorian Government’s Victorian Science Agenda - Innovation Fund.

    Our Mission

To translate research of its partner institutions in the field of reconstructive surgery to improve the health of those afflicted by injury, disease or abnormality.

    Our Vision

Working closely with local consortium partners and an international network available to the company, Neopec aims to build a new Australian led regenerative medicine initiative that not only delivers new treatments, but also genuinely seeks to maximise patient access.
